All loan amounts will be deposited into your mobile money account in Ghana Cedis, at a monthly interest rate of 6.5 percent. The interest charged on the loan, however, is compounded and may be reduced if the repayment plan is completed in a short period of time.
Code to Apply for NSS Loan
The code for applying for an NSS loan is 3961# valid on any mobile money network service.

Steps To Apply for NSS Loan
Step 1: Dial *396*1# to apply for the direct service loan.
Step 2: Choose option 1 to select institution “Request Loan” or “Yes” if you already started the process but could not continue at some point.
Step 3: Press 1 to select NSS from the popup menu.
Step 4: Enter your NSS number here. When you enter your NSS number, your NSS information appears, including your full name, date of birth, NSS number, and Ezwich number.
Step 5: To obtain your loan, click 1 to Accept.
Step 6: After accepting the loan, you will get a Pin by SMS, and you will need to redial the short number *396*1# to proceed.
Step 7: For verification, enter the four-digit pin issued to you by SMS.
Step 8: After you’ve successfully entered the pin, create your own personal PIN. You’ll be asked to create your own pin.
Step 9: To obtain an NSS loan through Direct Savings and Loans Ltd, dial *396*1# again and repeat steps 1 & 2.
Step 10: Specify the purpose for the loan request.
Step 11: Enter an amount that is between the specified loan amount for you.
Step 12: Select your Loan repayment (Number of months to pay back).

How to Repay your NSS Loan
The loan amount would automatically be deducted from one’s Ezwich by the National service scheme on a monthly basis plus interest.
