MoE presents GH¢18000 to Families of 9 Drowned Students

The Ministry of Education (MoE) presented GH¢18000 to the families of 9 drowned students.

Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, led a team to Saboba in the Northern Region to console with the families of the 9 students who perished in the Oti River.

Prof Amankwa during the visit expressed management’s deepest sympathies to the families. “I pray that the good Lord will grant you the formidable fortitude to bear the losses.” He said.

He promised GES’ cooperation and collaboration with expert psychologists and counselors from both the Police Service and GES to help minimize the anguish and suffering of their parents, St Lwanga pupils, and the wider community.

The MoE presented the grieving family with a total of Ghc18,000 as a symbol of their sorrow.

Meanwhile, Mr. Emmanuel Chingya, the Headmaster, has been interdicted effective Monday,November 15, 2021 pending investigation into the matter.
